The Poems: Danse Macabre: Writings Round a Festival. Poems & Songs in Scots & English

The pamphlet Danse Macabre: Writings Round a Festival:Poems and Songs in Scots and English was written by Sheena Blackhall during her time as Writer in Residence at Aberdeen University’s Word Festival 2009. It was published by Lochlands, Maud, Aberdeenshire, and circulated at the event. Hidden Sairs featured in the Elphinstone Institute Newsletter. The Wye the Coyote Howls appears on the Elphinstone Kist Flapper the Whale & Mister Minger are part of Nae Bad Ava, a poetry anthology for children, published by the Reading Bus. The cover is a photomontage by Sine NicThearlaich of the Danse Macabre:XXII: The Priest by Holbein.

The Poems: Figurehead

On 30th April 2009, Dead Good Poets in association with North-East writers' groups including Huntly Writers, Deeside Writers, Grampian Association of Storytellers, Lemon Tree Writers, Aberdeen Writers Circle and Springtides, inaugurated Sheena Blackhall at a Makar Making ceremony at Books and Beans in Aberdeen. The Makar-Making Event was a Wordfringe curtainraiser, organised by - - Figurehead was launched at this event. It was published by Lochlands, Maud, Aberdeenshire, and printed by Thistle Reprographics, 55 Holburn Street, Aberdeen. The cover was designed by S├Čne NicThearlaich. The poem Fallen Lucifers was published on line by Sally Evans, the editor of Poetry Scotland. The short story Jimmy was solicited and accepted for publication by Lallans. Peat-Cut is due to appear in Canvases 29-44, published by Malfranteaux Concepts, Aberdeen.
